Guru and Schole

Selamat Hari Guru

School maybe a distasteful word to children in their later years, thinking of the examination and loads of work to be done and no more running home excitedly during those standard one and yelling to their mums, "mak, hari ni ckgu ajar...." or "mak, cikgu suroh beli..... untuk esok". Remember moulding the wet papers into rabbit and enjoying the nursery rhymes on the mat?

According to Greek root schole carries a delightful meaning: leisure....this was logical enough, for the pursuit of knowledge was an obvious use of leisure, so schole came to the mean learning during leisure and finally a place of learning. Well, ...it was once and we had that opportunity to be in such  situation where we went to school with our bags full of antics, ...bola popia, decorated eraser to be as a tool to main petik on the table. Then came a season where our mouth full of beans and straws as blowpipes. Ask Cif those happy hours in classroom.
Heading to the workshop down at the edge opposite the Kapitol with minds full of imagination for unimaginable creations and the tripod in the science lab. used to be for our own experiments using the whatever we can burnt..... Those moments will never be tasted our our children NOW.
To all of us,  Cliifordian 73/78, once we greeted our Miss Low, Miss Mary, Madam Lim, Cikgu Dollah, Derih, Mustafa, Pn Cik Nur bt Buang, Pn Raja, Cikgu Alias, Mr and Mrs Leong and those "lighted our path" ....

"Selamat Hari Guru"
