MOMENTS THAT CAN NEVER BE REWRITTENED

Sent: Sat, 21 May, 2011 21:01:40

Salam & Dear Friends,

I hope the weekend thus far for all of you were nothing short but an interesting and relaxing one. It has been pouring this evening in KL, a nice opportunity to unwind, relax and stay indoor while enjoying the company of family. Without us realizing it,  these were the norms that had been going on for most of us since we started having a family of our own for over 20 years.

Unlike the time while growing up, the era when we were a child, the time when we were in our teens, our weekend then were full of activities and more so when it rains, either we soaked ourselves in the playing field, or waiting to leave for home after catching a movie at Rex, Cathay or Capitol, or having a nice sip of coca cola and curry mee at Ghee King, Cendol and laksa at the stalls along Jalan Datoh or waiting for the boat ride at Tambang for home.

Those were the times when beyond 7pm, if we were still not back, our guardian or parents were worried sick and that was reflected the moment we laid our eyes at them as we reached home. Any intended outings then, were usually planned and made 2-3 days earlier, no telephones & hp, facebook, twitter to assist and facilitate. Even without all these means, we usually went to the extend to meet and be with friends.

The mode of transport then, either our 2 wheelies, Wai Thong or Reliance bus, some on foot, those staying across the river, the evergreen boat tambang but yet, amidst all the limitations then, we will go all the way to meet and do things we knew and liked most then. Those were the days that can never be re-written and fond memories of our lives.

Along the years we may have frequented this town and place before, either during our festivals or whenever there's family obligations that warranted us to be back to our town and roots, but more often and not, we were surrounded by just relatives and families, no friends in sight on moments to reminisce, shared and laughed for and above all the carefree feelings we once had and experienced.

Words can never express how significant it will be, come 9th July 2011 where opportunity comes knocking at our door again to capture and have those moments again that most may have forgotten and missed!

SEE ALL OF YOU IN KUALER ON THE 9TH OF JULY 2011.
