MTL - A GET TOGETHER & NIGHT TO REMEMBER (...posted by CPD)

Sent: Sat, 31 July, 2010 21:40:19

Dear Friends & Salam ALL,

My trip to Lumut yesterday afternoon with our President Faisal, Aiznin and BJ in company started on a rough patch as it was raining throughout our journey until Tronoh some 50km away from Lumut. We stopped for awhile at R & R Tapah where Farid Wajdee & Fuzy awaits us  more of loosening ourselves. President's helped himself to some 'lemang & rendang daging' and by the time we reached Lumut it was nearly 7pm with no less than 20 friends at the Waterfront in Lumut awaits while enjoying sunset by the sea.

We adjourned to a nearby mosque in town for Maghrib  and soon afterwards headed to Teluk Batik for the 'BBQ party and Get Together' planned and arranged by our gracious host Azizul Rahman, Aziz & Pa @ Mustafa. It was an open air arena surrounded with chalets by the sea and although there's some technical glitch initially at the site in terms of readiness with no proper lighting, it was soon attended to by the site owner and our host for the night.

For once, all of us were 20 years younger of our age the evening and throughout the night. Never mind if it's only 'men's company and club', we couldn't care less too for any sights to behold within the vicinity, we're not at all bothered for the short  drizzle with no MOON or STARS to show which we presumed covered by the night clouds but what mattered most the night belonged to some 30 of us Cliffordian of Batch 73/78!

It's no easy task lighting up the BBQ stove with charcoal but the handy man in Azizul & Aiznin who once served in the Military made it looked so simple. With jokers in the pack, the  likes of Meor Hilmi, Latif, Seli and Yasin the nights were filled with laughter that put all of us to  stitches. With hungry faces shown as the night wore off, and with BJ, Nonie with his fresh keropok lekor from Kelantan, Latif, Chan, Yusop KTM with his deer meat all the way from Sungei Siput, all of get get to reap the fruit of their 'BBQ'ing labour' past 9pm.

There's much chicken, prawns, fish, deer meat for some 30 of us and while having them we were entertained with good  old stories. The unusually late Sham popped in past 10 after running some demanding errands along the way which a few of us knew although he's not telling! Well, those who knew what are the 'demanding errands' were, let's keep it to ourselves!

Amir arrived soon afterwards and with more stock of lambs and lobsters that sized as big as the whole arm of Rahman Sifu. This fellow name, Man Sifu is worth mentioning after his failed bid to hijack some of this fresh stock in Bangi prior Amir departure to Lumut! Just kidding Rahman! It was rather refreshing and what a change this time from the many meets that we had.

The rest in attendance, Ongkie 'new kid on the block' with his shaved "Kojak" look the morning earlier, Duan  Nasib who laughed more than spoken, Duan poly who served boiled water for coffee and milo, Farid Wajdee from Bangi, Fuzy whom sacrificed his wedding anniversary day with wife to be with friends(guess the many years of marriage took its toll already.. just joking bro!), Zamzuri with his teary eyes past midnight due to tiredness and short of sleep, Fandi whom was clicking away taking pictures for remembrance, Jijul who write faster and better as compared to when he speaks and others, name not  mentioned, all of you made one night that I will not forget.

Thanks again for the tireless and noble effort made by our host that went all the way to make a night to remember for all of us! Those who didn't make it last night, you all actually missed the joy, laughter and pleasure of the company which no words can describe! It's the very  splendor of MOH TEROJAH LUMUT that all of us have been looking forward to.

Faisal, BJ and me in the wheels drove back to KL past 1am and safely reached our home almost at 4am this morning! See you all again come 28/8/2010 for the Moreh & Bersahur in Kuale.

Roger and out!

Hasni
